Welcome to
Yogi's House

Mr. Peanutbutter Needs Your Help

A few weeks ago, during a grooming appointment, a large mass was found on his tail.

After seeing the vet, we were told it can’t just be removed, the entire tail needs to be amputated in order to properly treat it and confirm it isn’t cancerous.

We don’t know yet if it’s cancer, but we can’t risk it spreading and it is growing fast and is painful to him. We think it may even be a cause of his behavioral issues!

His surgery, biopsy, and aftercare are estimated to cost $1,500–$1,600, which is unexpected for our rescue.

Mr. Peanut Butter has already fought for his life once. We’re doing everything we can to give him another chance.

Yogi's House works tirelessly to save dogs from the euthanasia lists of overcrowded California shelters. We want to make adoption a joyous, personalized, and hassle-free experience. Adoption is possible for all breeds, and we work to find adopters who meet all of our rescues' needs.

We encourage you to adopt, not shop.

Meet Yogi

The dog who started it all.

In September of 2022, a young Shepherd named Yogi was on the euthanasia list at a Southern California shelter. After calling the shelter, Emma and Nicola found out that he was scheduled for euthanasia that very day at 4:00 PM. Even though their ETA was 4:30, the shelter said they would not hold him past 4:00. Yogi was going to be euthanized, even though people were on the way to save him. By some miracle and with plenty of convincing, the shelter held him the extra thirty minutes, making Yogi the first official rescue of Yogi's House.

What Our Fosters & Adopters Say

Adopter Testimonial
“We’ve fostered with Yogi’s House 3 times now - 1. Foster hospice, 2. Special needs pup who got adopted, and 3. Our new foster fail aka adopted boy Papi! We have had straightforward fosters and tricky medical cases together and I can confidently say that everyone on the Yogi’s Team is so committed to providing the best possible life for these euthanasia listed dogs. We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to work with them and I have referred several friends to this rescue because they have a lower barrier to entry than others and a very fast response rate! Makes it so easy to work together when we are all mission focused on saving the dogs!! They make it so easy to foster by reimbursing for all supplies and food and medical in real time. The network of other Yogi’s House adopters and fosters is fantastic as a support system too!”
